Rhyl Youth Marching Band

  1. Playing at The Lovely Room

Thank you to the Quartet for playing in Rhos on Sea this evening. Thank you also for Nick for conducting us. We made just under £70 (including the contribution from Jo). Apparently we sounded 'Absolutely Magical', 'really lifted the evening' and 'set the tone'. So, I think they liked us. Well done, well done, well done x

  2. 25th Anniversary Concert

Hi All. The band will be having a concert in January to celebrate 25 years since Jeff put us together. As part of the concert we will be having a short panto. Anyone who wants to be in it will be and I hope as many beginners and band members take part as possible. I have put a sheet on the notice board in the hut asking anyone who wants to be in it to put their name down and also indicate if they have a preference for a particular part. We'll be running some auditions before we make any final decisions.

  3. GUIDING CENTENARY PARADE - CONWY

My thanks yet again to you all for turning out last evening (20th Oct) for the Guiding Centenary Parade through Conwy.
Although it was difficult at times to read your music I really appreciate the effort you all put in and at last it seems we are approaching being a good parading band again.
    Well done to you all.

  4. GREAT DAY AT MANCHESTER

Didn't we have a wonderful time on the day we went to Machester!!!
Two great performances, Two wins - What a Day!
You cannot imagine what it feels like when, as Bandmaster, I walk through the other bands on the way back to the bus after the final muster. The congratulations, the great comments on the way that you all performed, all from other bandsmen who were impressed by you on the day.
I have said it before, but I am so proud to be associated with such a great bunch of people.

  5. FAREWELL ANDREW

Another sad day for the band yesterday.
Andrew - Tenor Horn - informed me that he no longer wanted to play with the band as he wants to pursue new found interests in learning the piano and drums and feels his brass playing days are no longer giving him any satisfaction.
My thanks to Andrew for the way he has conducted himself at band and the commitment he has given.
I am sure that you will all join with me in wishing him all the best for the future and assure him that we would welcome him back with open arms should he wish to rejoin.
